Excursion: Journey to the Roots of Chemistry – Justus Liebig Museum
08.10.2026 18:00- 19:30
Connect the history of science with the challenges of our future. We invite you to a special excursion to the Justus Liebig Museum, one of the world’s most significant sites for the history of chemistry.
Walking through the historic laboratory where Justus von Liebig worked from 1824 to 1852, you will witness the very birthplace of modern chemical research. This visit offers a unique perspective on how foundational scientific breakthroughs paved the way for our current understanding of molecular structures and chemical processes—knowledge that is also vital to addressing today’s challenges in Water Security and Climate Change.
The excursion includes an exclusive guided tour and a captivating experimental lecture held in the museum’s historic auditorium. Experience chemistry as it was performed in the 19th century, seated on original wooden benches, bringing the era of Liebig to life.
