It is now well established that water security is a multi-dimensional attribute. Any endeavor to pragmatically enhance water security, especially in light of climate change concerns, must adopt an approach that cuts across sectors and facilitates the concerted involvement of diverse stakeholders. In the context of this multifaceted complexity, it is not surprising that the scientific advances in this domain have not translated into policy and practice with as much alacrity as desired. Yet, this seamless transitioning of research into policy instruments and subsequently into on-the-ground action is vital to ensure that water security models are ‘dynamic’, well capable of responding to anticipated drivers convincingly. The central premise of this open house panel discussion is to collectively brainstorm on addressing the gap between science, policy and practice vis-à-vis water security interventions, in light of climate change.
