After completing her M.Sc in Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) in Germany and Jordan, Mirja completed a PhD in Farming Systems Analysis at Wageningen University & Research. Throughout her studies Mirja focused on the social impacts of and the social driving forces for natural resource management (NRM) decisions. Working at the interface between social and natural sciences, Mirja repeatedly experienced the added value of considering social aspects and dynamics when seeking technical solutions to NRM challenges. In teamwork with Justyna Sycz, Mirja is looking forward to consider ‘water security under climate change’ through a social lens at the WSCC 2019.
