He is aMexicanprofessor researcher at the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosi in Mexico. His interests cover various research projects from weather and atmospheric research, low impact construction materials, sustainable development strategies like urban farms and eco-techniques to environmental policy and education.He is a civil engineerby the UASLP,a master in environmental sciencesby the University of Western Ontario and a PhD in environmental sciences by the UASLP.Hebelongs to the Multidisciplinary Environmental Graduate Program, to the Water Management and Technology Master Program and he is part of the international team for the Interdisciplinary Master on Resource Efficient Cities.Marcos leads the Environmental Agendaofficefor his university.Marcos Algara-Siller has beena member of the Environmental Sciences Latin-AmericanNetwork, president of the State Climate Change Council, member of theCátedra UNESCO de SostenibilidadUniversitat Politècnica de Catalunya,vicepresident of theNorth Central Committee NCERA-213 Migration and Dispersal of Agriculturally-Important Biota. US Department of Agriculture, member of the Municipal Waterworks officefor San Luis Potosi, Mexico, advisorfor the Epidemiologic PhytosanitarySurveillance System for the Mexican federalagriculture office.Before his work as researcher, he was an environmental consultant, conducted environmental impact assessmentstudies for a hazardous waste plant, and worked for a waterconsultant company. As acomplement, he has had various science divulgation projects for more than 10 years, on radio, TV, written media and workshops.
